MEASUREMENTS:

Bust/Chest: 32,    (36 : 40) ins.

Length:         25 ins, for Her, 271 ins, for Him.

Sleeves:         16+ ins, for Her, 18+ ins, for Him.

TENSION: 4 sts. to 1 inch.

ABBREVIATIONS: Check here

BACK: * Using No. 7 needles and M.C. cast on 71, (81 :91) sts. 1st row: (right side of work), K1, (P1, Kl) rep. to end. 2nd row: P1, (KI, P1) rep. to end. Rep. these 2 rows until 21 ins. ending on the 2nd row. Change to No. 4 needles and knit 1 row. Purl 1 row. Cont.   in stocking stitch and work the 18 rows from Graph, rep. the 10 sts. to last stitch, then work the end stitch. Then work rows 3  to 15. Then work 2  rows in  C.C. Change to  M.C.  inclusive.  Cont.  until work measures 16 ins. for Her, 171 ins. for Him (or length required) and tie a marker in at each end of last row to mark the heg. of armholes. * Incr. 1 stitch each end of every 8th row there- after until 79, (89 : 99) sts. Cont. until 81 ins. for Her, 91 ins. for Him ending on a purl row.

Shape Shoulders: Cast off at beg. of the next and every row 6, (7 : 8) sts. 4 times, 7, (8 : 9) sts. 4 times, 27, (29 : 31) sts. once.

FRONT: Work as Back from * to *.

Divide for V Neck:

Next row: K35, (40 : 45) sts., turn, (leave rem. 36, (41 : 46) sts. on holder) purl back to side edge. Cont. on these 35, (40 : 45) sts. and shape neck edge by decr. 1 stitch on the next and every 2nd row 13, (14 : 15) times, at the same time on annhole edge incr. 1 stitch on every 8th row 4 times. When shaping of neck edge and arm- hole edge is complete and 26, (30 : 34) sts. rem. cont. until 81 ins. for Her, 91 ins. for Him ending at armhole edge.

Shape Shoulder: Cast off at beg. of the next and alt. rows 6, (7 : 8) sts. twice, 7, (8 : 9) sts. twice. Ret. to rem. sts. on the holder, slip the centre stitch on to a safety pin, join in yarn and finish to correspond with other side.

SLEEVES: Using No. 7 needles and M.C. cast on 41 sts. for Her, 51 sts. for Him. Work as Back until 11 ins. Change to No. 4 needles. Knit 1 row and purl 1 row. Work from Graph as for Back until 35 rows have been completed, then cont. in M.C. only, at the same time, incr. 1 stitch each end of the 19th row and every 3rd (4th) row thereafter until 65, (75) sts. Cont. until sleeves measure 161 ins. for Her, 181 ins. for Him (or length required) ending on a knit row. Cast off loosely purlwise on the next row.

TO MAKE UP: Press work on the wrong side. Using a small back stitch sew upright shoulder seam. Press seam open.

Neck Band: With right side of work facing using No. 4 needles and M.C. pick up and knit 36 sts. for Her, 40 sts. for Him on each side of V neck, the centre 1 stitch, 24, (26 : 28) sts. across back neck. Cont. in stocking stitch decr. 1 stitch each side of the centre 1 stitch every row, at the same time, work 2 rows in M.C., then work the last 3 rows of Graph, then 2 rows in M.C. Purl the next row for fold of neck band. Beg. with a purl row and work in stocking stitch for 6 rows incr. 1 stitch each side of the centre 1 stitch every row. Cast off loosely.

TO FINISH OFF: Sew up left shoulder seam and neck band ends. Press seam open. Fold neck band in half to  inside and slip stitch down. Pin tops of sleeves between markers and seam edges tog. Sew up side and sleeve seams. Press seams.
