Stained Glass Granny Square Shell Crochet

SIZES: Misses’ petite (small-medium). Garment width around underarms about 26″ (3 1 1/2″-34″).

MATERIALS: Lee Wards Lightweight Knitting Worsted of Orlon Savelle. 7 (8-9) ozs. of desired colors. Crochet hook size D (F-G). or size required to crochet to gauge. (Note: Size increases are made by increasing hook sizes.)

GAUGE: Small square = 134″ (2″-2’/4″): center hexagon. measured on the diago­nal =5″ (51/2″-6″).

PATTERN NOTE: Change color every rnd. Beg each rnd with ch 3 (first dc): end each rnd with sl st to top of starting ch-3. Fasten off.

Sleeve: Make 2. Following diagram. sew pieces together. Side 3 forms the neckline edge at shoulder. Sew sleeves edges I and 2 to corresponding edges of front, then sew half of edge 4 to half of A, remaining half of 4 forms underarm seam. Sew back of sleeve to back body in the same manner, sewing half of edge 4 to remaining half of A. Sew underarm seam.

Edging: Work 2 rows sc around neck, armhole and bottom edges, alternating colors.

FINISHING: All pieces are overcast together, changing color for each seam section.Front: Following diagram, sew pieces around center hexagon. The A and B pieces form side panels that are connected to the back
