Stocking stitch (st st): knit rightside rows; purl wrong-side rows.
Chevrons: Row 1: 1 edge st, k3 into the next st (k into the front, k into the back, k into the front of the same stitch), k4, sll , k2tog, psso, k4 1 edge st. Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: Repeat row 1. Row 4: Knit.
Repeat these four rows.
