Cuddle Snood Knit Pattern

Cuddle up into this soft and snuggly snood on cold winter days. Knitted in a deliciously soft yarn and using bright coloured stripes, it will be sure to cheer up even the most dull day. Large needles and an easy 2-row pattern make it quick and easy to complete, even for the novice knitter.

SNOOD

Using 5 mm (UK 6/US 8) needles and Lime, cast on 73 sts. Work 4 rows in garter stitch.

Now commence pattern as follows:

Row 1 (RS): K1, (yfwd, sl 1, k2togtbl, psso, yfwd, k next st 1 row below st on needle, letting st above drop off needle in the usual way) to last 4 sts, yfwd, sl 1, k2togtbl, psso, yfwd, kl.

Row 2: K1, Purl to last st, k1. These 2 rows form the pattern and are repeated throughout.

Work 5 cm (2 in) in Lime, join in Ruby, work

5 cm (2 in) in Ruby.

Continue working in stripes of Lime and Ruby as above until you have 6 Lime stripes and 5 Ruby stripes. Do not break off and join in yarn but take it up the side of the work catching it in as you work. Work should now measure approx 55 cm (22 in) and you will end on a Row 2 of a Lime stripe. Work 4 rows garter stitch in Lime, then cast off.

to make up

Work in all ends neatly. Sew seam of snood, matching stripes carefully as you do so.
